Real Madrid have a plan. The club are thinking about signing Borussia Dortmund player Erling Haaland, whose contract with the Germans runs until summer 2024.
Real Madrid's idea is no other than to use several players as bargaining chips to be able go for the 20 year-old Norwegian, one of the biggest talents in recent times.
According to 'ABC', Madrid are aware of the 90 million euros plus 20 million in commissions and bonuses which Dortmund will ask for the international star.
Therefore, their main task now is to try and reduce the asking price in some way. That can be done by including Jovic and Mariano in a deal. The duo are not wanted by Zinedine Zidane.
According to the cited source, Real Madrid want to present an offer together with Mariano and Jovic to try and persuade the Germans to let Haaland go.
'Mundo Deportivo' adds that the former Salzburg player earns eight million euros at Dortmund, an amount which Real Madrid think is affordable. They would even be willing to pay the young Norwegian slightly more.
Such is Madrid's interest in Haaland that the Norwegian attacker himself has already responded to the interest: "It's always nice that people focus on you."
