It has been 82 days since Zidane's last full training session at the helm of Real Madrid. It was on 11 March, just the day before Thompkins' positive result, that the entire squad was put into quarantine.
The Madrid players returned to work on 11 May, just one month later, but they did so with individual training sessions in small groups. Little by little, day after day, more players were joining the groups.
Until the 1st of June, when 'Zizou' can count on the whole team again. The fourth phase of the protocol signed by the clubs and the Health Department has now arrived at Valdebebas.
Only eleven days of group training will be held in the Spanish capital, as La Liga will kick off on 11 June with the interesting derby between Sevilla and Betis.
LaLiga was responsible for approving the joint training sessions for this Monday: "The clubs of LaLiga will start the group training sessions from Monday 1st of June, since the Government published the Order SND/458/2020, of 30th of May, for the relaxation of certain restrictions of national scope established after the declaration of the state of alarm".
