Raul: Ronaldo will win Ballon d'Or

Raul is confident that his former team-mate will scoop the prestigious award thanks to his Champions League and Euro 2016 wins.

"I think Cristiano will win the Ballon d'Or," Raul told Spanish outlet Cadena Ser. "I think it will be between Cristiano, Messi and Griezmann. They would make up a nice podium.

"The Champions League and Euro 2016 are hugely important and that is why I think it is Cristiano's year".

The Real Madrid legend also believes that the Portuguese forward is a team player, despite many believing that he is more concerned with personal achievements.

"We should be proud of what Cristiano has been doing. He scores 50 goals per season. I struggled to hit 20," Raul added.

"He has a great personality and is very hungry for success. He is more critical of his own performances than anyone else. He always wants what is best for the team and is very demanding.

"All his team-mates like him and respect him. I know because I had the opportunity to play alongside him".
