Despite the fact Rangnick's arrival on the bench has been a breath of fresh air for Pogba, Man Utd fear he will leave at the end of the season. The Frenchman has still not made a decision and he would rather wait until the summer to decide.
But Man Utd cannot wait until then and they have now mapped out a plan in case Pogba decides to leave at the last minute. According to 'The Sun', Man Utd have decided to go after John McGinn in January.
Rangnick sees in McGinn many of the qualities a midfielder should have. And that name has been passed on to the Man Utd board as a replacement for Pogba.
The previously cited paper says that McGinn has previously been on Man Utd's agenda. In 2019, Man Utd showed interest in him and now they are thinking of having another go.
If Man Utd finally go for McGinn, they will have to negotiate with Aston Villa and 'The Sun' have warned it will not be easy. McGinn's contract runs until 2025 and the club will ask for 50 million pounds for the midfielder.
