PSG charged by UEFA for fireworks in crowd

UEFA has stated its intent to investigate the French club, after supporters appeared to set off fireworks in the stands, during their Champions League victory over Liverpool on Wednesday.

Thomas Tuchel's team triumphed 2-1 against Liverpool at the Parc des Princes, to overtake their Premier League opponents into second place in Group C.

Brazilian Neymar was the hero on the night for the hosts, as his first half goal wrote him into the record books once more. The Brazilian is now the highest scoring player of his nationality in the Champions League.

Paris had previously been charged for crowd distrubances after October's victory over Red Star Belgrade.

After having promised to "all necessary action" over the events, the further incidents on Wednesday will no doubt provoke a stronger response from UEFA.

The current charge of "setting off fireworks" will be heard by UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on December 13.
