Jordan Pickford, Everton's goalkeeper, will not be punished for the dangerous tackle with which he injured Virgil Van Dijk, who will have to undergo surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament and will practically say goodbye to the season.
The Dutch defender had to leave the match against Everton after a dangerous entry from Pickford that went without a penalty because the move was disallowed due to offside.
The FA will not sanction the goalkeeper after the match, as it only reviews actions that have not been seen by the referee or by the VAR, which is not the case here.
The move was invalidated for offside, so Pickford did not receive a red card or penalty against him.
Liverpool contacted the Premier League for what they understand was not a correct use of VAR as they were later denied victory with a goal by Jordan Henderson which was disallowed for offside in the build-up of the play.
