Pedri has had a brilliant start to his Barcelona career. The youngster, who has yet to turn 18, started the Clasico, although his perfromance was not as good as what we have seen in the other games this season.
Rocco Maiorino, the former Las Palmas sporting director, spoke about how he discovered the player in his first days with the Las Palmas first team.
"In the first training session, we saw that he was a special player. In his first rondo, he was never ending up in the middle, he was something different," he told 'TMW'.
"The more time he spent, the more we saw that we had a special player. Humble, intelligent, he never makes a mistake, in any position or situation," Maiorino continued.
The Italian, who is no longer at Las Palmas, asked Pedri to given some time: "He still doesn't have the personality to become a leader, he was born in November 2002."
Finally, he admitted that the Canary Islands outfit would have never sold the footballer had they not been in great need financially: "If the club had not had financial difficulties, they would not have sold him straight away. We sold him for five million, it could reach up to 30 in bonuses and Las Palmas are guaranteed a percentage of a future sale.
