The Ukrainian goalkeeper only signed for Real Madrid in June from Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk for a reported €8.5m plus add-ons, but will go out on loan to gain experience.
Lunin, 19, will spend the 2018/9 season at fellow La Liga side Leganés, who are based just outside of Madrid.
'Los Blancos' have included a clause in the deal, however, which will mean Lunin is not available to face his parent club. The two sides will meet this Saturday at the Berbabeu.
Lunin will be presented at the club on Thursday and will wear the No. 99 shirt for Mauricio Pellegrino's side.
