After several months of talks regarding his future, it appears that Neymar is in his final year at the Parc des Princes. He will not go back on his agreement.
However, the agreement reportedly only came about because PSG wanted to receive at least 200 million euros for the player - close to the amount he was purchased for in 2017.
The understanding is that Neymar will be able to leave the club due to the fact that the sporting objectives that were put on the table to convince the Brazilian to sign for PSG in 2017 have not been met, especially with regard to the Champions League.
Therefore, any clubs interested in signing the player could already be looking into their accounts, seeing if they can afford the €200m price tag.
Paris Saint-Germain's multi-millionaire owner, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, has himself tried to slow down Neymar's exit. However, this time could be the definitive one in there being a new era for the club and another stage in Neymar's career.
On paper, Barcelona and Real Madrid are the most interested parties, while Neymar would reportedly be happy to return to Spain.
André Cury, Neymar's father and agent, is the one who made the agreement. As Cury also works for Barcelona, the possibility of a return to the Camp Nou continues to gain momentum, though several conditions would need to be met for that to happen.
