Valentí Guardiola, Pep's dad, spoke to 'Radio Villa Trinidad' and admitted that, in his opinion, the Catalan manager "wouldn't mind" having Leo Messi in his ranks for next season.
"I think Pep certainly wouldn't mind having him at City. My son is a bit impartial when he speaks to me, but Pep has always held Messi in the highest regard", he said.
That said, Valentí made it clear that the City boss' respect for his former club would make the transfer difficult: "Messi is at Barcelona and Josep, who has Barca in his heart, would never want to hurt the club by taking their player away.
"There's not a club in the world that wouldn't want him in their team. I saw Messi play when he was 12 or 13 and I was amazed. He was already out of this world even at that young age. There are few players like him", Pep Guardiola's dad concluded.
