José Mourinho is worried that Harry Kane could be injured during his time with the England team in the international break.
England plays a friendly against Wales on the 8th and two UEFA League of Nations matches against Belgium and Denmark on the 11th and 14th respectively.
That is why, in the run-up to the Europa League match against Maccabi Haifa, the Portuguese manager asked for "understanding" from Gareth Southgate with regards to his players, especially the English star.
"When you have this kind of player, you want him to play every game, but that's not possible. You know, I think Gareth Southgate and Steve Holland care about players. It's my hope, I'm not going to call, ask or beg. I'm not going to push. I think they deserve freedom and I have the greatest respect for them," he said.
He also referred to the possibility of Dele Alli being in the European head-to-head: "I cannot confirm that Dele will play, any more than I can confirm that he won't".
"We still have some training sessions, we have decisions to make. All I can tell you is that he is being very, very professional. I have great respect for him," Mou said.
