After Lampard took over as manager of Derby County in May, there were questions of the ex-Chelsea and England international and his ability in management.
However, Derby Chairman Mel Morris has reassured Lampard that he will be given 'time' to prove himself at the club. Morris has seen seven different managers come and go at the club since 2014. Before the game against Reading on Friday evening, Morris told 'Sky Sports': "He will get time. The reality is it's really difficult to get out of this league.
"In truth, we also need to look at other factors. We've had two seasons where we haven't got the best out of our players - particularly the academy," he explained.
Lampard himself is targetting promotion this season, after signing forward Jack Marriott from Peterborough and winger Florian Jozefzoon from Brentford. Chelsea's Mason Mount and Liverpool's Harry Wilson have also arrived on loan.
