Real Madrid now have several players that they don't see with a future at the club headed for the exit door. Gareth Bale is one such name on this list, although Mariano is also starting to worry the club. 'Los Blancos' are trying to find a move away for the striker, but he isn't planning on going anywhere this summer.
'El Español' are reporting that Mariano has no intention of leaving the club, and instead wants to win the the trust of Zidane - something he wasn't able to do during the Frenchman's first stint at the Bernabéu, leading to a move away to Lyon. Last season, which was blighted by injuries, the forward played just 19 times, scoring four goals.
Madrid's already overpopulated attacking spots have been added to this summer with the arrivals of Luka Jovic, Rodrygo and Eden Hazard. Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio are still around, as well as youngsters such as Vinicius Jr and Brahim Díaz, who Zidane reportedly prefers to Mariano. Roma have enquired about his availability, but his answer has always been the same: he doesn't want to leave.
The 25 year-old wants to at least try to catch the eye of Zidane during pre-season, although it still seems unlikely that he will be in line to play many minutes next season. Madrid reportedly offered him to Milan, who aren't the only club interested, but at the moment he doesn't appear to be close to a summer exit.
