Man Utd's Ten Hag prioritises January signing of defender

Manchester United are reportedly expected to prioritise the signing of defensive players in the January transfer window. Erik ten Hag's side have been plagued by injuries and the team's defensive performances have been a cause for concern.

The Red Devils are conceding a lot of goals, such as in recent defeats to Manchester City and Newcastle by three goals and in the Champions League they conceded four goals against Copenhagen.

The injury list includes a number of defensive players such as Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans and Casemiro, so Manchester United's priority will be to find a defender.

One of the players Erik ten Hag's side are reported to have their eye on is Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo. According to FourFourTwo, the former Barcelona man was already a target for the club in the summer but did not go ahead as Harry Maguire's £30m move to West Ham was not completed.
