Man Utd consider signing former Barca star Todibo

French defender Jean-Clair Todibo has been on Manchester United's radar since the summer and is back at it again according to 'The Sun'. The player later revealed that now his place at Nice was settled he "didn't want to make the wrong choice". Since then, the centre-back has also been linked with a move to Chelsea as a replacement for central defender Thiago Silva, who is 39 and could be living out his final season in London.
Ten Hag wants to add competition to the Old Trafford defence as he has Lisandro Martinez out until Christmas and Varane has suffered several injuries this season. With Jim Ratcliffe's arrival in Manchester approaching, this transfer could be easier as he owns the French club.
Todibo already explained to L'Equipe his decision to stay in Ligue 1: "It’s very clear Nice would not have sold me this summer. I have given it (the links to Manchester United) in-depth thought and I remained calm. I didn’t want to make the wrong choice."
To make this move to Manchester United possible, Premier League clubs are looking to pass a ban on loans between teams that are part of the same ownership. This rule has also affected Newcastle who sought the loan of Ruben Neves from Al-Hilal to replace Tonali, who is banned for illegal gambling, because the club has a connection to Saudi Arabia.
