Manchester City are looking to keep on investing, and not just on the pitch. They also now want to do so at the club's stadium. English media claim that the club's board are planning on investing €340 million to renovate the Etihad Stadium.
According to the 'Daily Mail', the owners are looking for the Etihad to become the fifth largest stadium in the Premier League. Therefore, they'll be investing 300 million pounds to enlargen the current site.
The idea is to increase the size of the north stand, giving it 7,700 more seats, meaning the stadium would be able to hold around 61,000 people.
With these works, City would surpass Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, and they'd be fourth, behind Old Trafford, West Ham's London Stadium and Tottenham's Stadium.
As well as the upgrade in size, the idea is to build a hotel, a mega-shop and even an amusement park as well as a museum.
The date for the inauguration would be the 2025-26 season, as the works would start in November 2023.
