After the Gunners saw their first bid of £39m for Lacazette turned down, Lyon president Aulas has confirmed that the new deal will break the previous club-record signing of £42.5 million paid for Ozil: 'It constitutes, without doubt, a record transfer fee for Arsenal, and for Lyon of course!', Aulas said.
Lyon's president told 'Le Progres': 'Alexandre Lacazette's transfer to Arsenal could be actioned within the next day or two. The figure reported by the English media of around €67m (including €12m in add-ons) is impossible and not realistic. Arsenal's first offer was around €45m, the transfer will be concluded in the range of €45m to €50m', he confirmed.
Alexandre Lacazette scored 37 goals in 45 games for Lyon last season, and the 26-year-old's arrival could open the door for Alexis Sanchez to join Manchester City.
