Chelsea produced a solid performance as they narrowly beat Middlesbrough away from home on Sunday, making it six wins in a row for the Blues.
The win saw the Blues go top of the league, but David Luiz says the league position is only important on the final day of the season.
"It's important to finish at the top of the league. Of course we are happy, but it's too early to speak about that," the Brazilian told 'Chelsea TV'.
"It's important in the last game to finish at the top of the league. That's our goal".
The former PSG man also urged the team to remain grounded after the Middlesbrough victory and says that there are many tough games to come.
"We are happy. We are doing an amazing job, but we need to keep our feet on the floor with humility because every game is a tough game," he said.
"It's a tough game when you play here [Middlesbrough], everyone knows, so we are happy because we did a great job, especially on the defensive side.
"It's a good three points and the first time this season we are top of the league. But we need to understand it's just the beginning".
