Lopetegui, the reason for Nolito continuing at Sevilla

The Sevilla player Nolito is in a very different situation to that of a few months ago. The attacker, unlike last season, has the confidence of his coach, Julen Lopetegui. 

Celta were interested in the winger throughout the summer, but the sporting director, Monchi, told 'Marca' that he commented all sorts with Lopetegui and "on his third day in Portugal", he started asking him "if Nolito's deal was done."

The coach told Monchi to "calm down a little bit" and from that moment in time, he started to "gather" that Nolito would be at Sevilla. "When we went to USA, I followed that tour minute by minute and I saw Nolito's performances." He then said he knew he was staying after that. 

It was after Sevilla's tour of Germany when Lopeteguoi confirmed the news that Monchi wanted to hear: that Nolito was staying. The man from Cadiz has scored two goals in his six appearances so far this season.
