It's a battle of the English heavyweights when Pep Guardiola's side travels to Anfield on Wednesday night for the first installment of their European encounter with their Premier League rivals.
Both teams have won plaudits for their attacking flair, which has already seen them exceed 100 goals in all competitions this season and that is no different in the continental competition.
Liverpool set a Champions League record by scoring 23 goals in their group-stage matches, nine more than Manchester City could manage with theirs, although the 'Sky Blues' faced much sterner opposition.
In fact, the 'Reds' are yet to lose in Europe, winning and drawing four matches apiece while their quarter-final opposition have been defeated twice: by Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Basel.
However, City came through their Round of 16 tie against their Swiss opposition comfortably (5-2 on aggregate) as did Liverpool, who defeated Porto 5-0 and both have a host of players who have already found the back of the net.
For Pep Guardiola, he will look to Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to break down the Reds' defence, who have scored four and three goals respectively as well as John Stones - a deadly threat from corners, having already been successful on three occasions in Europe.
Nonetheless, Jurgen Klopp arguably boasts the more dangerous forward trident, with Mohamed Salah (8), Roberto Firmino (7) and Sadio Mane (6) all enjoying writing their name on the scoresheet.
One thing is for certain though, it's going to be an entertaining fight to the semi-finals when these two attacking juggernauts face each other in the Champions League.
