Liverpool v Manchester City - Preview and possible lineups

Liverpool: The hosts will definitely be without centre-back Joel Matip, who is out for the rest of the season with a thigh injury, whilst fellow defenders Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez are also sidelined. Adam Lallana will miss the game after tweaking a hamstring against Crystal Palace at the weekend. Midfielder Emre Can also sat that game out and remains a doubt with a back complaint.
Man City: Striker Sergio Aguero will once again miss out due to a knee injury, with the Argentine having not featured since the defeat to Chelsea on March 4. Benjamin Mendy remains unavailable due to a knee problem.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on Guardiola:
"His teams are always excellently positioned. He always has great teams which make excellent decisions.
"At Barcelona it was Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Lionel Messi and so on.
"At Bayern Munich he had fantastic players who made a lot of great decisions. Now, with Gundogan, Silva, Aguero, Sane on the left wing, Sterling on the wing, Gabriel Jesus, they're extraordinary.
"Positioning is important, but this is not witchcraft, it is not unusual just because the wing-backs come inside.
"But when the players are in position they move every millisecond in order to be available, and when they are, that's when the individual quality of the player becomes important."
Man City boss Pep Guardiola on making special provisions for Mohamed Salah:
"Yeah, I'll have to do that [make special provisions for Salah].
"But not just him. Mane, Firmino – all three are almost unstoppable. They are fantastic, fantastic players. The way Liverpool play is so, so complicated for us. We know that. They are so quick, they are so tough but it's the quarter-finals of the Champions League so we cannot expect something at this level is going to be easy.
"We play against ourselves and say that is the target we have to overcome and we will be able to do it or not able to do it. If we are able [we make the] semi-finals, if we are not able [we say] well done Liverpool and next season we come back stronger to overcome the situation we cannot this season."
