Liverpool fall short in quadruple quest

Klopp's side had to win and hope for a slip-up from City, something that happened for many minutes at the Etihad, where Aston Villa went 2-0 up. But when that result came, Liverpool were held to a draw. 

Five magical minutes from City sparked a comeback and ended the Anfield side's chances of winning the Premier League title as they missed the chance to put pressure on their rivals.

After a poor start to the game, Liverpool conceded a goal against Wolves after just two minutes of play when Neto put through after an assist from Jimenez with a cross-shot that Alisson could not save. After this early goal, Liverpool would start to accumulate chances and would end up making the visitors defend very close to their area. 

In the 24th minute Mane levelled the match thanks to a beautiful back-heeled assist from Thiago Alcantara, and the Spaniard was later substituted by Milner. At the start of the second half Wolves could have taken the lead when Hee-Chan had a great chance, the striker was alone in front of Alisson and shot at the near post, but the Brazilian managed to save it.

On the 84th minute, after a series of rebounds in the box following a corner that Matip managed to head in, the ball landed into the boots of Mohamed Salah, who scored the home side's second and put City under pressure. Five minutes later, Robertson would widen the gap with a one-two inside the box with Firmino which ended with the left-back's shot for the Reds' third and final goal.
