Lichtsteiner could leave for the Bundesliga

The 35 year-old is without a club after his contract at Arsenal expired and could end up moving to the Bundesliga before the market closes.

Lichtsteiner still wants to keep playing and does not want to go to Asia or the USA, one of the places footballers who are reaching the end of their careers go

'Kicker' are reporting that the Augsburg board are thinking about offering the defender a one year contract so that they will have his experience for this season's Bundesliga.

The player would apparently be happy to move there because they play in one of the top five European leagues and he would get lots of game time at the club. Especially because he played some matches last season at Arsenal under Emery.

At Arsenal he played 23 matches, scored a goal and gave an assist before his contract at the Emirates ended.
