"I left Barcelona because I'm 27 and I need to play", Clement Lenglet said a few months after swapping the Camp Nou for England.
According to 'Sport', Tottenham are very close to becoming full owners of the French centre-back. The deal is to be closed for around €14 million, which will be gratefully received at Barcelona.
The same source added that the French defender has performed at a good level in the Premier League. Therefore, the London side have decided to try and become fulll-on owners. As for the player, he's expected to be up for it.
What's more, both clubs are in agreement in the negotiations. Inside reports from Spurs on Lenglet are that he's excellent on a personal and professional level.
In the meantime, Barca are going to start their plan of getting players out underway, with the idea of getting rid of players who won't be playing a role in the Catalan side's plans. Sergino Dest and Samuel Umtiti are others that could be seeing the door.
