Lautaro's new deal with Inter Milan has already been signed. The Argentinian forward will be linked to the Italian side until 2026 and will remove his 111 million euro release clause from his contract. Fabrizio Romano reported that Lautaro already signed the papers.
This news doesn't come as a surprise as Inter's sporting director, Giuseppe Marotta said a couple of days ago to 'La Gazzeta dello Sport' that the deal was "close to being done". "We will announce it soon", he claimed. Fabrizio Romano also reports that 'soon' means in the next couple of days.
Lautaro's current contract lasted until June 2023. The board should be happy as they get to keep Inter's star and have the last say if in the future there are teams interested in the Argentinian forward.
After Lukaku's departure, Inter had to secure that Lautaro Martinez stays at the club to keep fighting for the 'Scudetto'.
