The Ronaldo saga rumbles on with less than a month of the transfer window to go. The footballer has returned to the United ranks but his recent episode during the match against Rayo Vallecano reflects how all is not well between the club and the player.
The player is in search of Champions League football. This is something that Corinthians cannot offer but despite this, they have made their interest in the United player known.
"It's true, I dream big. This is Corinthians! Willian and Renato Augusto are here aren't they? Everything is possible in football and I have a duty to give my best for Corinthians", explained Duilio Monteiro Alves, club president, on 'Ulussescast'.
"Is it possible? I don't know. We haven't tried or investigated, there hasn't been the possibility, but we are keeping an eye on it. Imagine if he suddenly wanted to play in Brazil", said the president.
The only thing that Ronaldo knows at the moment in terms of his place on the pitch is that he will unlikely start the opening game of the season. Ten Hag branded his behaviour of leaving early from United's last pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano as "unacceptable".
Options are fast running out for Cristiano. No Champions League level team is yet to seem prepared to take him away from Old Trafford.
