Rooney, 33, who now plays in the MLS for DC United, is set to come out of international retirement to play for England against the United States on November 15th, to raise money for his charity in what will be his final appearance.
The news has been met with mixed responses, with several former players criticising England's decision to let the striker back into the team.
Kane, speaking to 'Sky Sports', claimed he cannot wait to play alongside Rooney one last time, and also said his teammates share the same view.
"I do not know too much about how he is going to do it or how long he is going to play.
"But it will be great to see him again, see a few of the boys and a great experience for a few of the younger players in the team.
"Everyone should get right behind it and give him a great send-off.
"He deserves it and was a great captain for us. He was captain when I got into the squad and sure, if he plays, of course he will be the captain."
