Lautaro Martinez's departure has picked up speed in recent days. His arrival at the Camp Nou seems closer than ever. That is part of an agreement which includes players. In that sense, Umtiti would be one of those who would help the deal between Inter and Barcelona be completed.
In Italy they are saying that Inter are open to the French central defender being one of those footballers to help pay for the transfer. That said, they will put their own conditions on the move.
Inter will only accept a loan deal with an option to buy him next season. And that is the problem because Barca have got a 50 million euro price tag on their defender.
Both parties must agree if they want to reach an agreement, although everything seems to suggest that will be the case. Barcelona would have some money spare they would not have to pay Umtiti's salary and Lautaro's 111 million euro buyout clause would be reduced.
This is all subject to the France international accepting a move to Inter.
