Iniesta showed no signs of slowing down as he comes to the end of his career with the Catalan giants. The Spaniard played an instrumental part in Barcelona's 5-1 thumping of Villarreal and offered a masterful assist for teammate Lionel Messi's goal.
Prior to the match, the visitors gave the recently crowned champions a guard of honour and reserved a special present for Iniesta. Given Villarreal's nickname of 'The Yellow Submarines,' the club chose to honour the midfielder with a submarine statue.

After the match, Iniesta expressed his delight with the convincing victory: "We're very pleased with the match. We still have the goal of completing the season unbeaten. That would be very special."
"In sport you are looking for motivations. We don't want to drop our guard because we have a very nice target, to be unbeaten," the 33-year-old added.
