The Zlatan Ibrahimovic transfer saga continues, with the player suggesting he could make a surprise return to his boyhood club Malmo.
The striker is available on a free transfer after leaving PSG after four greatly successful seasons in Ligue 1, which saw him win the league's Player of the Season award a record three times.
Since Jose Mourinho's appointment at Manchester United, the player has been heavily linked with a move to the club, but his agent then went on to downplay these claims.
Ibrahimovic returned to his city of birth on Monday ahead of Sweden's friendly against Slovenia, and gave some local fans hopes of seeing him return.
"I love Malmo and I wish I could play," Ibrahimovic said in an address to fans before the game.
"I apologise for that, but I will [play here again], I will. Just wait for me."
Ibrahimovic began his professional career with Malmo, before leaving for Ajax in 2001. He has since represented some of Europe's biggest clubs like Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG.
