The Juventus goalkeeper recently said that he is the best goalkeeper in the world, even giving his reasons for such a claim. After all, Szczęsny's logic holds up.
"Recently I said that when I was playing for Roma, currently the best goalkeeper in the world, Alisson, was on the bench. Now at Juve my substitute is one of the greatest players in history. The conclusion is that I'm probably the best in the world and in history", said the Juve goalkeeper in an interview with the Polish newspaper "Przeglad Sportowy".
Although it would not be all that surprising to hear Zlatan Ibrahimovic make such a claim, the Polish player clearly made the comments in a joking manner, adding that he is glad to have the privilege to share the dressing room with Buffon.
"This is a good move for Juventus and for me - the possibility of training with him, talking, watching and sharing insights cannot be bought. I would have to be very stupid not to make the most of it", said Szczęsny, who is aware of the his teammate's legendary status.
"I'm delighted. When I came to Juventus two years ago, I knew I would be his substitute for a year. Now he has returned, aware of his role. Our relationship is still great, we also kept in contact when Gigi was at PSG."
