"I'm going to show that I can play and that Madrid can also win with me"

Hazard wants this season to be his season. He, and everyone involved with 'Los Blancos' are desperate for him to become a key player for Real Madrid. This is something 'Los Merengues' have been willing for a long time. The Belgian is now happy and comfortable both physically and mentally.

Currently in Las Vegas, Hazard is about to play in his first ever 'Clasico'. It is surprising to think that he has not featured against Barcelona for Real Madrid thus far, but the numbers do not lie. He has not participated in the six possible occasions since joining the Spanish giants.

This time round he is desperate not to miss out. He believes this match could be the one to silence the critics. "I've told myself that I can play because I don't have any pain. We can move forward. I've enjoyed my holidays and I've come back ready for pre-season", he commented for 'Marca'.

Hazard admitted that he had something in the back of his mind despite the immense happiness he felt for the titles won last season: "When we won those titles together I was happy for my teammates, for the club and for the fans. But, I had something in the back of my mind. I was happy for the group, but to myself I said 'we're going to show that I can play and that the team can also win with me'".
