The battle between Madrid and Gareth Bale has done nothing other than start. When a club want to sell a footballer, but he does not want to leave, it is bad news. There is no slution in sight and the player's agent, Jonathan Barnett, continues to reaffirm Bale's commitment to the club.
On this occasion, Barnett said to 'Sky Sports': "I am not sure if Mr Zidane wants him to stay, but for the moment Gareth wants to stay." These words differ from what was published in recent days in relation to the chat which Zidane and Bale have apparently maintained.
It was 'Marca' who revealed that Bale had already been told by his coach that will not be counted on, that he does not figure in his plans. Something which he probably thought when the Frenchman returned to Madrid. In his previous spell, especially in the last few months, Bale spent more time on the bench than on the pitch.
Madrid have only got to wait for Bale to make his move, if he decides to so, of leaving the Bernabeu. In any case, a hypothetical transfer is not at all clear. Bale has got a couple of very important problems. One of them, his enormous salary - 17 million -, the other, his continuous injuries.
So the Premier League seems to be the most suitable destination for him if he ends up parting company with Real Madrid. Neverthless, an offer close to what Real Madrid are asking for has not come in yet. They are trying their best. to get as much money as they can from a player who never performed to expectations.
