Mark Hughes abruptly walked out of his press conference after being asked for his thoughts on Stoke fans singing abusive chants towards Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
The Potters manager was speaking to journalists after his team’s 3-1 defeat at Emirates Stadium and seemed to take exception to a question over chants directed at Ramsey, who wasn’t named in the Arsenal squad, before saying ‘did they? OK, well I didn’t hear them’ before walking out of the conference room.
Ramsey suffered a broken leg after an attempted Ryan Shawcross tackle while playing against Stoke in February 2010 and was ruled out for 10 months as a consequence.
Stoke fans were reportedly aggrieved at Ramsey not accepting an apology from Shawcross and have since sung abusive chants at the Welshman during almost every Arsenal versus Stoke fixture since.
