Howe has challenged the fringe players in the squad to take their opportunity against Championship side Norwich City, when the clubs face off in the EFl Cup on Tuesday night.
The 'Cherries' come into the fourth-round tie on the back of an excellent 3-0 win away at Fulham at the weekend, and boss Howe has told his squad players that they will have to step up, in order to enter his thinking for thier next league match.
With only one absentee in the form of Josh King, Howe has an almost full compliment of players to chose from for the match, but seems to be willing to give his squad players a run out against the 'Canaries'.
One of the players looking like a shoe-in to appear in the match is veteran striker Jermain Defoe, who has had to be content with a bench role so far this campaign.
Boss Eddie Howe is hoping that whoever he selects will be up for a tough match against a 'Dangerous' Norwich City team.
Ahead of the match, Howe told the media: "We have nice problems, the team is not an easy one to pick at the moment and that is why we are winning. That is a really healthy position to be in. It means players around the team are performing really well and giving me selection decisions to make."
He continued: "That is the ideal situation and is why were are being successful at the present time. The challenge is for the players to keep that consistency, that professionalism if they are not in the team, and tomorrow gives an opportunity for some of those players to really stake their claim."
Howe was keen to note that he was not expecting an 'easy-ride' against Norwich, who themselves enter the game on a run of 3 consecutive wins, as they push for promotion to the Premier League this season.
Of his team's opponents Norwich, Howe said: "We know how difficult it will be. Norwich are flying high in their respective league and are in really good form, so we know it is a dangerous game for us. They have an open, attacking philosophy with a high pressing game, so we have to be very careful that we don't drop our standards."
The Bournemouth boss made sure to note that he is fully focused on the tie, and not looking ahead to any upcoming Premier League fixtures, asserting: "We have a tough game against Norwich and we have to focus on this game, not look too far ahead to the Manchester United game. That would be my message to the players this week."
