The Athletic Club goalkeeper made a terrible mistake in the opening seconds of the match. He came out to try and win the ball, the opponent got there first and instead of pulling out, he followed through with his challenge and wiped out Moore of Tenerife.
That saw him get a straight red card leaving Athletic Bilbao with one man less after one minute in a 120 minute match. He made the tie more complicated for the Basques, but his teammates were capable of winning the tie with great difficulty.
Despite the storm, the Athletic Bilbao keeper, always in the centre of criticism, apologised for his error on Instagram. "Very tough day personally after a serious error of mine, we almost got knocked out of the competition. I can only apologise to my teammates and special thanks to you because I would do anything for you," the Athletic Bilbao keeper wrote.

"I say when I make a mistake, head up, grin and bear it and apologise!!! Come on Athletic always!! Thanks for the messages of support. You are always there in the good and bad times!!", he added, together with a photo of his teammates celebrating the victory at the Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez.
