Eden Hazard has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, with both parties equally as keen for a union to happen at some point in the near future. Yet as the forward nears the stage in his contract that Chelsea will wish him to extend his deal; Hazard has once more left his future vague, in a clear 'Come and get me' plea to the thirteen time European Champions.
The Belgian forward has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge; but has now entered the final 18 months of his current contract, with Real Madrid keeping close tabs on negotiations between the player and Chelsea.
And, this week, in an interview with 'FranceFootball', the play maker was keen to stress that his future remains undecided. When asked if a move to Real Madrid would please him, Hazard replied: "Why not? You know it very well. You're asking the question, but you know what the answer will be so you don't have to ask it."
He continued: "I've won everything in England, apart from the Community Shield, but that doesn't mean I'm leaving. I've always said that I wanted to explore something different after England but there are also things that might make me stay. After the World Cup, I wanted to leave, but in the end I stayed at Chelsea and I'm playing one of the best seasons so far."
Even as a long time admirer of former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, it appears that the Frenchman's departure from Madrid last summer, has not diminished the lure of a switch to the Spanish capital. In fact, Hazard was keen to stress that his next career move does not depend on that of Zidane. Hazard concluded:""If he goes to Manchester tomorrow, for instance, I will not be going there."
