"Having Courtois in goal is like a guarantee"

Madrid's Director Of Institutional Relations Emilio Butragueno praised Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who played a pivotal part in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Valencia, with several key saves and a penalty stop in the shoot-out, and claimed that he "is like a guarantee".

"We have the best goalkeeper in the world. He showed it once again. The penalties were very well taken and having Courtois in goal is like a guarantee".

Butragueno gave a positive assessment of the Valencia game after getting to the final. "We're happy to get to another final and have the chance to defend our title".

"We knew we were going to have a very tough game. Valencia played very well and played their game. We always looked to win the game, we had chances and everything got stretched out until extra-time and penalties when we achieved our goal of getting into the final".
