20-year-old City player Ambrose has been highly impressive for loan club NAC Breda this season, scoring 10 goals in 26 Eredivisie appearances for the Dutch side. However prior to this he had been at City for five years, and got the chance to work with Pep Guardiola for a season.
He spoke to 'SFR Sport', and gave us an insight into Pep's coaching style.“With Pep, it’s possession and more possession,” he stated.
“If you make a silly mistake, he stops training for five or 10 minutes and talk about the pass. After he’s stopped play for 10 minutes, you really don’t want to lose the ball again.”
He revealed that Guardiola has completely overhauled all the youth teams at City, not just the senior side.
“He’s changed everything from the Under-6 team to the first team,” the French forward continued. “The reserves were in the same building as the professionals and he restarted everything."
"He sent us to the young guys. It’s a bonus when the guys at 10 or 11 are playing in the same way, especially when you’re trying to play out from the back with possession. It’s nice.”
However intense Guardiola may seem, his methods clearly work, and City are on course for at least a double this year, with the EFL Cup already in the bag and the Premier League pretty much wrapped up. The 'Citizens' also have a clash against Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the Champions League to look forward to, and have been tipped by some as the favourites to win the European trophy.
