Joe Gomez is expected to be out for up to six weeks after it was confirmed he suffered a fractured leg during Liverpool's 3-1 win over Burnley on Wednesday.
The tackle on the defender, from Burnley player Ben Mee, sparked a controversial debate between the opposing managers.
Mee's manager Sean Dyche defended his player, stating that it was an 'honest tackle', and there was no intent to injure his opponent.
In contrast, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp called for more protection for players, as he felt Mee's challenge on Gomez crossed the line of what should be permitted.
Liverpool confirmed the injury to centre half Joe Gomez on Thursday morning.
The 'reds' will be ruing their luck after the England international was stretchered off at Turf Moor, as he has been a crucial part of their solid defensive record so far this season.
