Gerard Moreno left the Spain national team after suffering an injury to his thigh which led to the medical team doing several tests on him which have not shown anything significant. However, Luis Enrique decided the best was for him to leave.
The reason was that the Spanish FA do not want to risk him as they know he is an important striker for both Spain and Villarreal. It is likely that, once he returns to Villarreal, he will have more tests.
"The striker was subjected to a test this lunchtime at the Sanitas La Moraleja clinic after going off in the game yesterday (against Sweden) due to muscle issues in the posterior part of his right thigh," the statement reads. They also said that no replacement will be called up.
"Despite the fact the scan shows no signs of a structural injury to that group of muscles, the coaching staff have decided to let him leave the camp as a precaution". That means Luis Enrique will have 23 players at his disposal for the Georgia and Kosovo games.
