Former Irish international Robinson suffering from Cancer

Although he has always carried the label of one of the worst British students of the Spanish language, he is one of the key voices in Spanish football. From player, to TV presenter, he has been at the top of the game for a number of years, An endless number of matches and broadcasts later, he is now facing the most important battle of his life.
"Michael Robinson has cancer. There I have said it. He gave me permission to announce it", revealed newscaster Carles Francino, best known for his role as anchor for the program 'La Ventana', which Robinson has co-colaborated on for some time now.
The Englishman told the story of how he noticed a lump in his armpit. But in spite of not finding any other symptom, he undertook tests which revealed that he has Melanoma. He is now receiving the required treatment, more specifically, Immunotherapy.
Born in Leicester 60 years ago, he was just another footballer in the Premier League, that was until he moved to Liverpool, where he rose to success and great fame. Osasuna opened the door for him to experience Spanish football in 1987, and it was at that point that he also began to have a great fondness for Cadiz, although he would never pull on their shirt.
A Republic of Ireland international, he began to become famous and adored for his jump into television, which took place as soon as he hung up his boots. He started his media career by commentating on the World Cup qualifiers for the tournament in Italy in 1990.

Therefore, it is not surprising that he was awarded the XII Vazquez Montalban International Journalism prize, in the category of sports journalism, for his "magnificent career in the field of sports communication."
