European elite interested in Santos star Rodrygo

The 17-year-old became the youngest goalscorer in the Copa Libertadores last month, after playing truant in order to represent his team in their 3-1 victory over Nacional.

Having previously been compared to former Santos goldenboy Neymar, there are sections of Brazilian supporters who believe he can surpass Vinicius Jr, who recently moved to Real Madrid.

The forward has captured the attention of Barcelona and United, although it is Liverpool who have had the longest-standing interest.

Whichever club does eventually snap the youngster up, once he reaches his 18th birthday in January, will have to fork out £45million for Rodrygo's release clause.
