Despite being England's first choice goalkeeper in past major tournaments, Joe Hart is not expected to be listed in Gareth Southgate's squad for the World Cup this year.
The 31-year-old, who has fallen out of favour at West Ham for a few nightmarish performances, is not hitting the form England need for a succesful campaign in Russia.
Whilst recently relegated Stoke shotstopper Jack Butland and Everton's Jordan Pickford are all but assured places in the squad, there appears to be one goalkeeping place still up for grabs.
Cue Nick Pope. The Burnley keeper has never played for England but has shown boundless talent in his side's extremely succesful season and has been instrumental in their Europa League spot finish.
Southampton's Alex McCarthy could also be an outside bet to make the cut. The 28-year-old recently won the Player of the Season award down on the South Coast and has made a number of worldclass saves that have ensured Saints' safety.
England's official 23-man squad will be announced on Wednesday. Keep your eyes peeled.
