This Monday, Unai Emery begins his reign as Villarreal coach. It is an ambitious three year project and the La Liga outfit are looking to up their game.
During pre-season, the first three days will be spent having medical and fitness tests to make sure the footballers are in good shape.
The club have asked all the first team players as well as those coming back from loan deals to come to the training ground this Monday. The tests will be done there.
It is worth pointing out that Villarreal have everything ready to began pre-season at the training complex in Miralcamp. 90% of the work will be carried out here while there is the possibility of one week of the pre-season being carried out elsewhere. That depends on the COVID-19 situation.
Emery arrives at Villarreal with work to do because he must decide on the future of players who are returning after a loan deal. These are players like Jaume Costa, Dani Raba, Miguel Llambrich, Enes Unal or Alfonso Pedraza. The transfer situation is something that is currently being talked about the coach and the club.
