The Italian outfit were looking for a winger for their attack. Their target was the Serbian player for Eintracht Frankfurt, although the German club rejected the proposal last May, 'SportBild' reports.
Conscious of the importance Kostic has on a team which, in the end, has been weakened, Eintracht Frankfurt did not let the footballer go. He has become one of the team's main players.
"Fredi Bobic believed in me when no-one else did," Kostic told 'SportBild'. "If any club wants me, they will have to come themselves," the Frankfurt footballer said.
Kostic arrived at Eintracht in summer 2018. Last term, he played a total of 46 matches in which he scored 10 goals and gave 12 assists. This season he has started strongly with two goals and two assists in just six matches.
