Pep Guardiola has confirmed in the pre-match press conference that Ederson is unfit for the vital Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield. Claudio Bravo will be the goalkeeper for the game on Sunday.
The Brazilian had to go off in the first half of Man City's Champions League clash at Atalanta in midweek and had to be replaced by Claudio Bravo, who was later sent off.
On that occasion, Ederson was taken off as a precaution, but Sunday's match-up arrives too soon for the keeper.
"He is not able to play on Sunday. We have another top keeper. Claudio Bravo can do it too," the ex-Barca manager confirmed.
Even though the Chilean has not started a Premier League game since the final day of the 2017/18, Guardiola does not feel that will be a problem.
"He won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup with us too. He's an exceptional keeper."
Man City go into the vital game with other notable absentees like Rodri, David Silva and Zinchenko and are currently six points behind table toppers Liverpool.
