There was reportedly racist and homophobic chanting by a group of Derby County supporters during the away game with Peterborough United on matchday two of the Championship season. The club found out about it on social media and they replied saying they would find those responsible.
It is worth being careful in this situation because we do not know whether this occurred until a full investigation has been carried out. Once the investigation concluded, they could be very severe sanctions for supporters. This type of behaviour has led to widespread condemnation from clubs, especially in recent years.
"A disappointing result, but what was even more disappointing was the fact a minority of our fans made a homophobic slur towards a Peterborough player and racist comments towards Jozwiak. We've reported the incidents and encourage others to do the same if heard or seen," they said.
"Derby County replied: "We thank Punjabi Rams (the account which reported the abuse" for rightly reporting these incidents and do not, in any way, condone these actions. We will work with the relevant authorities to determine who these individuals were."
