Deeney is a tallismanic figure for the 'Hornets', with his physical attributes to link up defence with attack being as important as his leadership qualities.
However, Javi Gracia could have to do without his main man this weekend after the striker picked up a thigh issue against Bournemouth, and coudn't feature in the side's last match.
"We thought maybe Deeney would be ready for the Wolverhampton game, but at the end he wasn't available and now this week he is working out of the team again. He is working and we'll see as we have another day." the Spanish coach said.
"It is a small problem, but I am confident if he is not available for this game, he will be available for the next week or the one after that. It's nothing serious."
After an excellent start tot the season, Watford's form has dipped in recent matches and will hope to turn that around against the Yorkshire side.
