The 24-year-old defender has played in three different positions for the reigning champions so far this campaign.
Stones has played at centre half, right back and also as a central midfielder but conceded it is simple to adapt under Guardiola.
"For me it's an easy enough transition because of how the manager wants us to play," Stones said to 'The Telegraph'.
"If you put David (Silva) there he'd know how to play it.
"It's down to him (Guardiola) and his ideas. He's so detailed in what he wants and we all know where everyone is going to be. We know telepathically.
"We all know where everyone is at the right moment and without even looking you can play a pass."
After maintaining an unbeaten record in the league for the first 9 games, Stones was optimistic about City's chances of bettering their record-breaking last season.
"Such a high bar to set ourselves but that bar is there to be broken, to try and beat that. I don’t think it’s impossible," he said on the prospect of winning over 100 points.
